The series 9200 XD was developed from series 9100 X and featured three motors, four heads, three speeds and the crossfield recording technique. It was, apart from the Dolby system, very similar to its predecessor. Other features included: The 9200 XD was produced in either 2 or 4-track versions and optional accessories included suitcase, dustcover and brackets for 19" rack mounting.
